Comme toutes les anciennes lames elfiques, Sting brille magiquement avec une lumière bleue en présence des Orcs à proximité; Gollum, qui déteste tout ce qui a été fait par les Elfes (à cause de la charge intrinsèque de pureté que les objets Elfes absorbent de leurs créateurs), a peur de Sting.

Cela a aidé Bilbo dans sa confrontation avec Gollum sous la montagne dans Le Hobbit et, plus tard, aussi Frodon grâce à la terreur que la lame inspirée à Gollum, a réussi à apprivoiser (temporairement) dans Le Seigneur des Anneaux.

Sting a la capacité de couper facilement des toiles d'araignées car il a probablement été créé pour ce besoin par ses créateurs de Gondolin, à cette époque il y avait en fait de nombreuses araignées pour les bois qui l'entouraient et il était donc plus pratique d'avoir une épée ou un poignard. utiliser plutôt qu'une grosse épée. Cette lame est d'une terreur absolue pour Shelob et toutes les araignées en général cultivées dans l'obscurité.

Cette réplique finement détaillée est une reproduction à l'échelle 1: 1 de l'épée utilisée pour filmer la trilogie "Le Seigneur des Anneaux".

The blade's flattened diamond shape and equally wide fuller reduced weight, yet retained strength in the end of the blade by stopping just short of the tip. It was equally effective for slashing against lightly armored opponents and for thrusting into more heavily protected enemies. The guard, similar to that of his father's sword, showed a warrior's flourish in that it was formed from a square-edged piece of steel that had been twisted before being curved into a crescent. The handgrip was wide like the blade, and the pommel was an elegant and simple piece of steel that added weight to balance the blade.

La storia e la leggenda di Re Artù sono intimamente legate alla magica e misteriosa spada Excalibur. Come aveva annunciato il Mago Merlino, solo chi fosse riuscito a estrarre la spada dalla roccia sarebbe diventato re. Artù riuscì in questa impresa. La lama è in acciaio, decorata con incisioni a bassorilievo, il fornimento è in metallo fuso con dettagli decorativi argentati. L'impugnatura è rivestita di velluto color verde scuro.

Sicuramente una delle più classiche ma anche più belle spade prodotte dalla casa spagnola.
